Community Herbal Mentorship Program

May - October 2025

Journey further down your herbal path with our intimate Community Herbal Mentorship Program. Designed for a small group of six students, this program mixes hands-on workshops with in-depth study sessions to foster a rich, community-based learning experience.

Each month, you’ll participate in an engaging four-hour workshop, gaining practical skills like: observing, harvesting and processing medicinal plants, crafting herbal remedies, and learning how to incorporate herbs into your everyday life with an informed intentionality. Plus, monthly two-hour long group study sessions will deepen your understanding of holistic herbalism through shared exploration of herbal topics.

This program not only teaches the art and science of herbalism, but also facilitates deep connection — with plants, and with fellow budding herbalists. (Yay, plant friends!)

Certified Clinical Herbalist and herbal educator Liz Faermark of Talk Wild Herbs and the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism will guide you throughout this program, occasionally bringing in colleagues from the Front Range herbalism community to co-teach and offer diverse perspectives. Liz will bring her signature warmth, silliness and approachable teaching style to every facet of this program. Expect to have fun, feel connected, and satisfy your insatiable desire to learn.

With a mix of outdoor and indoor settings, you’ll learn in a range of environments that explore the breadth of versatility in herbal practice. Whether you’re sitting in meditation with a wild plant or crafting nourishing herbal formulas in the kitchen, each experience in this program will equip you with practical knowledge to help you feel competent and confident on your own herbal journey.

a word from your mentor:

“This mentorship program is the culmination of my own ten years of herbal study, and eight years of teaching with hundreds of students taught. Sharing herbalism with curious people is my passion. I believe we’re all connected to this practice through our lineage — someone in our ancestry had a potent relationship with the Earth. And they used foods and medicinal plants to sustain the lives of our families. Understanding the art of herbalism is your birthright.”

Who is this Mentorship Program for?

  • Complete herbal newbies who are voracious learners and want to get a comprehensive and hands-on experience in the world of herbal medicine.

  • Herbal novices with some herbal knowledge and experience who learn better in person and in community.

  • Herbal students who have already been through an online herbal training, and have read a lot of herb books, but who lack some real-life experience with the plants.

  • Folks who have been on their herbal journey for a while, but need a refresh on their herbal studies. Inject some inspiration into your already-budding practice!

  • For herbalists who want to grow their community of colleagues, connections and friends within the herbal world.

  • For people who desire a balance between the science and the spirit of herbalism. We will focus our studies on both ends of this spectrum (as they are truly inextricable).

Outdoor workshop locations will be between Boulder and Denver counties; please allot for up to an hour of travel to outdoor workshop locations (depending on your home base). In-person study sessions will be held in one location consistently; location is TBD.

To secure your place in the program, I ask for an $80 deposit, which will be applied toward your first month’s payment. Cost includes all materials for monthly workshops, as well as a printed curriculum binder full of herbal monographs, recipes, how-to’s, exercises and more. This cost also includes access to text and voice note communications with Liz throughout the duration of the program. Basically, your mentor is on retainer for six whole months! Want to ask me a question about the weird gunk in your infused oil? Send me a pic! Need help choosing an herb to put in a tea for your herb-wary partner? Let’s brainstorm!

Group: Six people will be admitted to this program. This will allow for the creation of a safe learning environment where you can receive hands on help and ask those burning questions of yours! This format also allows for students to create a close cohort who can help each other develop their herbal practice. Please note, prospective students must take part in a short interview process with Liz (see below).

Instructor: Your main mentor will be Certified Clinical Herbalist and herbal educator Liz Faermark of Talk Wild Herbs.
